PPC University

PPC University is an intensive four-day program that has made southwestern Pennsylvania an intellectual center and thought leader for healthcare quality engineering.

Day One: Participants discover the basic values and principles of Lean and Toyota-based process improvement.
Day Two: Participants apply Lean principles and tools in a complex simulation activity with multiple scenarios and process redesigns during which they design assembly and distribution lines of a circuit board factory.
Day Three: Participants engage in rapid problem-solving and observation exercises designed to view work processes in a new way.
Day Four: Participants conduct first-hand observations at a healthcare facility. They are then asked to graphically represent the “current condition” they observed.

Open PPC University

PPC Open University Sessions are scheduled five times throughout the year. Anyone can attend. Participants are asked to bring specific examples of improvement opportunities from their own workplaces so that they can apply the PPC lessons they learn.

Customized PPC University

Organizations also have the option of scheduling a customized four-day university that is personalized to better meet their individual needs. Prior to the four-day session, the PRHI instructional team works with you to identify the most meaningful opportunities and situations to incorporate into the four-day curriculum. We will also conduct an on-site visit to coordinate the observations to meet your needs and objectives. To schedule a Customized PPC University, contact Tina Hahn, Director of Education and Coaching, at thahn@prhi.org or 412-586-6715.
